Mrs Christina Aas

Christina is the Technical Director for SmallSat Systems for Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, and is together with the engineering team developing several next generation small satellites to answer governmental and societal needs. Christina is on the board of Kongsberg NanoAvionics, and involved in future roadmaps for satellite and mission technologies. Christina has a bachelor's degree in physics, a master's degree in aerospace engineering and several management courses (among others ISU in 2009).

In 2010 Christina co-founded Science & Technology AS, which she ran until April 2019 when she stepped down. S&T is a technology company that delivers innovative applications to extract value from large sensor datasets (satellite, aircraft and drones). S&T works within digital forest monitoring, mapping of climate change, improvement of weather measurements and development of new instrument technology. In 2015, Christina was named one of the top 100 young leaders in Norway, and in 2016, S&T was chosen as the 5th best Gazelle (fast-growing) company in Oslo.

Christina has also held several board positions (Space Norway, Andøya Space, NIFRO (Norwegian Industry Forum for Space-Related Organizations)), co-chaired an international workshop on artificial intelligence and Earth observation data, and is a member of several international committees. She has acted as a role model for the Renate Center and have been on television (NRK and Discovery Channel) communicating science to the next generation and general public.
